I plan to add more torrent clients in the future. For NZB support there will be a new port, purely for nzb, also in the future :)

So, it’s time for yet another party! This party will be held in our home in Limbricht on Saturday, July 11th.
Also, there will be a bbq if the weather allows it. If not, we’ll go to a nice steakhouse (in Aachen probably :)). I will take care of the food and drinks like cola and beer. If you want anything stronger you’ll have to bring it yourself.

Take the train to sittard and from there bus 14 or 15 to stop ”Provincialeweg/Dr Nolensstraat” (this is the first stop in Limbricht). After leaving the bus, walk a few meters in the same direction the bus is driving and take the first passage to the right. When walking out the passage, crossing the street, you wil find yourself in the haagweg :) (See the image below for a more graphic explanation).

Het idee is om dit op 8 sept. te doen, mits genoeg animo :)
Ik heb 2 logeer bedden (2 persoons bed en een 2 persoons luchtbed), dus als je wilt blijven slapen laat dit even weten. (je kan natuurlijk ook je eigen slaapspullen meenemen en de bank schijnt ook goed te slapen :)).
Er is bier en fris, sterker spul mag je zelf meenemen :)

So, of course I immediately installed it an connected my server at home to it.
After everything was up and running again I installed nut (/usr/ports/sysutils/nut & nut-usb), Connected the UPS to my system via the serial port.
All seemed to work fine at first, but soon enough nut started broadcasting messages that my ups was on battery while it wasn't.
So I connected the USB console cable instead of the serial one, but as soon as I started nut, it came back with this error: "No matching USB/HID UPS found". After a searching google for a while I found this article which solved my issue.

So in short, to get the ups management working with USB, do the following:
1 – Remove "device uhid" from your kernel config.
2 – Recompile your kernel
3 – mkdir /usr/ports/devel/libusb/files
4 – put this patch in /usr/ports/devel/libusb/files
5 – portupgrade -f libusb

So if you look in your arp table you’ll see 3 ip’s, from which 2 are use on 2 servers and 1 is virtual, with the same mac address.

And now the really bad part: Windows will use different (non default) mac addresses on the interface, so the switch on which the servers are connected will see those mac address (different per server). But NOT the mac address used for the server and cluster ip’s. So, as soon as the incoming packets reach the switch, it does not know what to do with it and it will start flooding the whole vlan…
As you can read here, Microsoft does this on purpose…. *ARGH*

Her show is called “She’s in parties” and is all about Gothic/Industrial music (and more) and is (as far as I know) the first Gothic/Industrial show on dutch radio. (Which of course, is a good thing)

So, as I said, this was her first show and she was pretty nervous. But I think that she did very well, besides a few technical errors. Her musical choices are pretty accessible for most people who like alternative music I think.

Anyway, judge for yourself and listen to her show:

Migrating the posts wasn’t that hard, WordPress can import rss feeds. But finding a suitable theme took me about 2 days so I hope you all like the new look :) Importing the comments seemed an impossible task though…
In my opinion the WYSIWYG editor was a little flimsy, so after searching some time I found EditorMonkey, which is a plugin that gives you a highly configurable WYSIWYG editor using TinyMCE or FCKeditor. Further more I use the Lightbox plugin. This plugin shows links towards images in a nice sort of layer over the site. (click here for an example.)
Now all is done I have to say that WordPress is a great piece of software and the fact that it’s so modular (using plugins) makes it even better.

While compiling the world I bounced into some errors. It took me hours to figure out what was wrong. The date was somewhere in 1997. So it seems that compiling files which are made in the future will cause serious issues.

Last Thursday we went to see Underworld. I was looking forward to this moment for months, and it was f*cking fabulous! It was the 6th time that I went to see them but every time seems to be better then the previous one. The whole vibe… happiness… love… energy… it’s just superb, I just couldn’t get enough of it. They played a 3 hour set, starting at 21:00. Lots of improvisation and new songs / experiments between the known songs, mixing it to one great show. I hope they soon return. Every time if I saw them, I’m left in some sort of a blur for a few days….I want more… I need MORE!!!!

Last week I bought a 'new' car. Since my old one (peugeot 309) was pretty much done for. I needed to find a new one. This one cost me just 600 euro. Not bad huh :) Click on the picture for more pictures.

To my surprise this went flawlessly. Only pidentd needed an upgrade, the version running wasn’t compatible with FreeBSD 6.0. So 2 thumbs up for the FreeBSD developers.

Since kde was kinda buggy on my notebook I started using gnome. While doing so I stumbled on one feature gnome didn’t have; a clipboard history tool like kde’s klipper. I searched the net but i couldn’t really find something useful. So i tried kde’s klipper and surprisingly that worked like a charm. So if you are looking for clipboard management under gnome, just use klipper :)

In short, he thinks it’s my problem to keep them out of his garden so his guinea pigs won’t get stressed out. He thinks cats should be kept in the house (sure, and guinea pigs shouldn’t?). Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t do that since my cats are used to get outside. They’ll go crazy if kept inside.
Although he was pretty calm and talked at a normal tone, he kind of threatened to buy a air pressure gun. I did not really respond to that in the assumption that he was only kidding. I hope we can come to a mutual understanding, since I don’t want to get on bad terms with my neighbors.
